The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) has said that work is progressing at pace on its Zayed Dialysis Centre project. 36% of the construction works have been completed and the centre is said to be on track to launch in September of this year.
Construction work began on the Zayed Dialysis Centre in mid-2019. As per the IACAD, over 98% of the concrete structure has already been completed and exterior and interior claddings and electro-mechanical work are now said to be underway.
The facility is being jointly developed with Dubai Health Authority, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, as well as contributing charities Dar Al Ber Society, Beit Al Khair Society and Dubai Charity Association, said a statement from IACAD.
Dubai Islamic Bank and Noor Bank have supported the project and the project is said to be a testament to the UAE’s strong global standing in terms of charitable efforts, the IACAD remarked.
As per the $10.02m contract, a dialysis unit will also be built outside the hospital, which is a licensed medical facility that provides services to dialysis patients on a regular basis, in addition to dialysis training at home, said the statement.
IACAD also noted that the Zayed Dialysis Centre will have 30% of its capacity – 40 beds – allocated to cases from contributing charities, which will be treated for free.
