Fujairah authorities said that a fire broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) on the afternoon of 4 May, following a drone attack originating from Iran.

The Fujairah Media Office also said that civil defence teams ‌were deployed immediately to contain the blaze.

3-Indian nationals were said to have been injured in the attack. The Fujairah Media Office said the three men sustained moderate injuries and were transferred to a hospital for treatment. Updates would be provided as they become available, it said.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defence also announced on 4 May that its air defence systems engaged 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles and 4 UAVs that were launched from Iran. Since the eruption of hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran, the UAE has intercepted 549 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,260 UAVs.

Authorities also urged the public to rely on official channels for information and to avoid circulating rumours or unverified reports.
