Bauer Spezialtiefbau wins $6.5mn contract for Nakheel’s PALM360 hotel

Nakheel has awarded a contract worth $6.5mn for piling work at its PALM360 hotel and residential project located in Palm Jumeirah at the Expo Real in Munich.

The contract was given to the Dubai branch of Bauer Spezialtiefbau, headquartered in Germany, and will take four months to complete.

According to a statement from the company, the construction tender for the project is expected to be released in Q1 2019, with its completion scheduled for 2021.  The process will involve drilling almost 600 piles as far as 54m below ground for the 260m tall structure.

The PALM360 is located on Palm Jumeirah’s western crescent in 46451.52 sq. m of land, with 125 hotel rooms, 331 residential flats and 16 pent-houses spread over 1114.8 sq. m.  The project will have the world’s largest sky pool, connecting the two towers 170m above ground as well.
